“What we liked about Blytheco’s approach was that they took an agnostic approach and didn’t try to prescribe any particular solution. They truly helped us evaluate multiple options that would truly service all our needs.”
Jeffery Tadlock, Director of IT
Blytheco Client WillowWood is an industry leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of prosthetic products, including the Alpha® family of liners, the LimbLogic® elevated vacuum system, and the OMEGA® CAD system. Based in located in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, they have been a Sage Software user for over 10 years.
As the company started to grow, their Sage 500 ERP solution began to hinder WillowWood’s progress. Shipping became painful for users of the system and clients who needed to receive their orders in a timely fashion. Customer service was impacted because employees couldn’t pull necessary client data from the system when a customer on the phone. Many simple tasks required multiple steps to achieve and slowed down productivity. Attempts to find an uncomplicated work around were futile. The challenges all pointed to the need for a new ERP solution that would improve productivity and be flexible enough to adjust with the company’s continual growth.
WillowWood set on a path to evaluate a new ERP solution, lead by Jeffrey Tadlock, Director of IT. He lead the effort to gather feedback from a wide variety of departments, such as customer care, marketing, operations and accounting. It was a company-wide effort to build requirements for the new system.
Next, they explored various partners who could help them select and implement their new solution. Jeffrey Tadlock shared: “What we liked about Blytheco’s approach was that they took an agnostic approach and didn’t try to prescribe any particular solution. They truly helped us evaluate multiple options that would truly service all our needs. We then narrowed our selection to two solutions. We then had about three to five demonstrations of various sections of the software before we made our decision to go with Sage X3 software and Blytheco as a partner.”
Although the implementation was recently completed, there’s already been a great change in the way WillowWood is able to work and service their customers. Jeffrey shared:
“Implementing Sage X3 has been huge for us. We used to have a lot of custom software in place. Now, we have bridged some gaps, and have a more, all-inclusive system. With all of our critical information under one umbrella, we now have a tighter grip on materials, costs, and planning. Decision making is based on more accurate information. Our entire flow of our manufacturing systems to customer service has changed; every department can now intelligently talk to each other!
“We are also looking forward to the future development of the Sage X3 product. Making the switch now has given us a modern technology foundation to work from so we can be responsive and agile as we focus on growth areas in our business that really need our help instead of being encumbered with lack of basic functionality in our software.”
Selecting the right partner was a key in their decision to switch software. Jeffery explains, “One of the big things we really valued was Blytheco’s in-depth approach. We wanted to get a better understanding and guidance on how we could improve and standardize our processes as we were changing one system to another. We wanted to get that deep dive prior to purchasing the software to ensure our implementation would be successful. Blytheco provided that and much more.”
