“Blytheco wants our company to succeed and that shows through my interaction with their team.”
Alli Wasserman, HR and Payroll
Western States Lodging and Management specializes in all phases of development of commercial properties, such as hotels, conference centers, senior communities and apartment complexes. They also provide management services in the senior home health care industry.
Powering their business is a software ecosystem consisting of Sage 100, Sage HRMS, and TimeStar for tracking hours. But the software didn’t integrate as they should. For example, payroll data was not exporting properly to the ERP's General Ledger. Western States also had trouble with the configuration of TimeStar. Just to function, they created time-consuming manual workarounds.
With several interconnected parts, updating any one part of their system was always a painful endeavor. Invariably, some components would stop working, further slowing down workflow. They attempted – unsuccessfully – to work directly with the software vendors to resolve their issues. With all these challenges, Western States Lodging and Management knew they had to find permanent solutions. They were anticipating significant growth in the next few years; they need their technology infrastructure to work dependably and to be able to maximize every feature available to them. So they turned to Blytheco for help.
Blytheco began by conducting a thorough onsite review of their system and provided documentation of the findings. All the system challenges were laid out and a prioritized roadmap for solving each issue was created. Although at press time some work is still ongoing, Blytheco has already completed a number of projects which brought immediate turnarounds (for the better) in their workflow. Achieving some of these results involved working closely with the software vendors to ensure proper functionality and maximization of each software’s potential.
Not only has Blytheco assisted with immediate needs, but planning for Western States Lodging and Management’s future is also vital. As of early 2017, Western States had about 1,500 employees but they expect to double in size by the end of the decade. Blytheco’s consulting team has been assisting with revamping their recruiting and onboarding processes with an emphasis on scalability.
Key HR team member Alli Wasserman had this to say about working with Blytheco: “Blytheco has deep knowledge of the products and vendors we use. This knowledge has been priceless for us. Blytheco works as my advocate with our software vendors. They think outside the box when the vendors are reluctant to. My only regret is that we didn’t partner with Blytheco in the beginning of our payroll conversion!”“Blytheco wants our company to succeed and that shows through my interaction with their team. I feel extra special because I work with several of their amazing professionals. With Blytheco’s team of genuine professionals in our corner, our future is bright!”
