What modules are included in the basic package?
StarShip comes standard with a network license and UPS support. All other supported carriers are considered separate modules and can be purchased separately.
 
 
What additional software options are available?

I have custom rates and service charges. Does StarShip support this?
Yes. In version 7.0 and higher, you can customize your rates and accessorials using our Rate Modifier module. StarShip allows you to set a percent increase/decrease, fixed amount increase/decrease or flat amount on a carrier by carrier basis.
 
 
Does StarShip support automatic rate updates? How often? Does it update the fuel surcharge?
The Subscription Plan covers you for 12 months of carrier rate/service changes, interface changes and enhancements. We have at least 2 major releases per year. The fuel surcharge is included in the web updates. You can also manually update the surcharge from StarShip.
 
 
What hardware is needed to run StarShip?
You will need a modem for uploading UPS, USPS, or FedEx Ground shipment information. A thermal label printer is required for printing barcoded shipping labels. If printing airbills/waybills you will need a Dot-matrix printer (please ask your sales representative for more detail).
 
What optional hardware can I purchase for StarShip?
A scale will save the warehouse time as well as reduce errors. Wedge-type scanners can also be used to scan a bar coded order number (typically added to the picking sheet).
 
 
Which scales does StarShip support?
The scale interface is required in order to read weight directly from a scale. StarShip can interface to the following scales: Transcell SP series*, Toledo 8213, Toledo PS6L*, Weightronix, Micro General 1270, MOS 105405, Fairbanks, Detecto AS-400D/420D, NCI 3835.
 
 
Do I receive technical support with the purchase of StarShip?
You will receive 60-days of free, unlimited technical support from the date of purchase. After this time, you may purchase support on a per incident basis. Cost is $195 for 5 incidents or $50 per incident

Additionally, 60 days of free updates are included with the purchase of StarShip. The 60-day grace period begins on the date of purchase. After this time, enrollment in the Subscription Plan is highly recommended. This plan includes maintenance releases and all updates to carrier rate/service changes.
 
 
Can I return the software for a refund if I decide I do not want it? What about the hardware?
You have 60 days from the date of purchase to return the software for a full refund (excluding freight charges). The Dealer Program, Technical Support, and Subscription Plans are all non-refundable.

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return the hardware for a full refund (excluding freight charges). Hardware must be returned in original packaging.
 
 
Can StarShip handle multiple UPS Shipper #'s?
Yes. Using the Multi-Account option with StarShip 8.3 or higher, you can run one installation of StarShip and access multiple accounts.
