 What's New for Sage MAS 90?

 
Year-End Tax Update
Tax table updates (TTU's) and year-end program changes for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 are now available for download from Sage Support Online. Year-end files are available for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 versions 3.71, 3.72, 3.73, 4.0, 4.05, 4.10 and 4.2 — prior versions will not be supported. Customers must have a current Sage Subscription Plan or Sage Support Plan to access Sage Software Online and download the updates.

This is the last year MAS 90 and MAS 200 Version 3.71 will be supported with these critical payroll tax and 1099 updates. If you are using MAS 90 or MAS 200 Version 3.71 or previous versions, consider upgrading your Sage MAS 90 or 200 software to the current version in order to receive software updates after this year. Give us a call to discuss your upgrade plans.

If you are using Sage Extended Solutions, a list of Extended Solutions impacted by the TTU and IRD will be posted online soon. Some Extended Solutions will require a new update be installed after the 2007 Year End Interim Release Download is applied.

 
Vista Compatibility
Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 are Vista-compatible!

MAS 90 and MAS 200 Version 4.20 users must install Service Pack 4 or higher for compatibility with Windows Vista. MAS 90 and MAS 200 Version 4.10 users must install Service Pack 15 or higher for compatibility with Windows Vista. The current schedule for Sage Software to provide compatibility with the Microsoft Vista operating system for Sage MAS 90, Sage MAS 200, and Sage MAS 500 is as follows:

Emails from Blytheco
We recently upgraded our Email Manager enhancement to be able to send color PDF files and some of you may receive an error when trying to open Quotes, Orders, Invoices or Statements that you are receiving. The error message will say the file is damaged. All you need to do is upgrade your Adobe Reader to Version 7 or higher and you will be able to open the attached PDF files.

Sage MAS 500 Year-End Tax Update
Tax table updates (TTU's) and year-end program changes for Sage MAS 500 are now available for download from the Partner File Center. For Sage MAS 500 versions 7.0 and 7.05, service pack 4 is available. For Sage MAS 500 Version 6.3, service pack 5 is available.

All downloads will be located within the Customer Support link at www.sagesoftwareonline.com. Customers must have a current Sage Subscription Plan or Sage Support Plan to access Sage Software Online and download the updates.

Sage MAS 500 Version 7.05
Version 7.05 includes important new reporting, platform and performance improvements as well as a rollup of all Version 7.0 service packs and monthly updates at the time of the release.

VistaCompatibility

Scanco Manufacturing Automation Enhancement
Manufacturing Automation provides Warehouse Automation users the functionality to perform MAS 500 manufacturing transactions including Material Issues, Material Returns, Labor transactions and Production Entry on a handheld device.  Managers gain a real time view of what step or stage each Work Order is in to better plan resources and respond to customer inquiries.

Scanco's Light Manufacturing Plug-in for Sage MAS 500 v7
Scanco, who partnered with Sage to develop the new Warehouse Automation (WA) module, has developed a Light Manufacturing plug-in for Sage MAS 500 Version 7. After installation of the Sage WA module, the plug-in can be installed. The install will automatically update the Sage MAS 500 database, the WA Listener Service and the Handheld Client software. The handheld will now be able to additionally perform Material Issues, Material Returns, Labor Entry and Production Entry. A demonstration of each of the manufacturing handheld applications will be presented.

Abra Benefits Connect has become Abra Benefits Messenger. This is a name change only; note that the features and functionality of the service do not change. The Abra Benefits Messenger service securely automates online communication of Sage Abra customers’ employee benefits enrollment data to their specific insurance carriers to eliminate the need to submit paper enrollment forms, reduce enrollment errors and give greater flexibility in adding benefits programs or switching among insurance carriers.
