Sage Summit - Over 3,000 customers attended Sage Software’s annual customer conference, Sage Summit, in Chicago earlier this month. Section 179 Benefits - Business owners have until December 31 to take advantage of the IRS Section 179 tax deduction! This section of the IRS code allows equipment that is acquired and put into use by the end of the year to be fully depreciated in the 2007 tax year rather than a little at a time over a number of years. Businesses that spend less than $450,000 a year on qualified equipment can write off up to $112,000 in 2007. The transaction must be structured as a Non-Tax/Capital Lease or an Equipment Finance Agreement (EFA). Qualified equipment is defined in IRS Publication 946 and includes common and movable tangible property like software. This valuable benefit terminates at the end of this year.
