PCI Compliance Deadline July 1, 2010!

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a mandatory global standard established by the major card associations to ensure the protection of cardholder data. Based on twelve guidelines, the PCI DSS requires merchants to make their physical and virtual environments secure to ensure protection of cardholder data. If you are accepting credit cards as a form of payment or donation, you are required by the card associations to adhere to the PCI DSS. The PCI DSS encompasses the security programs from Visa and MasterCard, Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and Site Data Protection (SDP), respectively.

The Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) was implemented in an effort to provide the definitive data standard for software vendors that develop payment applications. The standard aims to prevent developed payment applications for third parties from storing prohibited secure data including magnetic stripe, CVV2, or PIN. In that process, the standard also dictates that software vendors develop payment applications that are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).

Client Survey Update

No matter what industry you are in, your clients are your top priority. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, the relationship that you have with your clients becomes the gateway to your success and the predictor of your future. Fred Reichheld writes in his book “The Ultimate Question" about a measurement he has found that ties client relationships to predicting future revenue. Those businesses that intentionally strive to improve the quality of the ongoing relationship with their clients can increase their revenue growth over their competitors at a faster rate. Isn’t that something that we all want?

But how do we know and measure how our clients feel about us? One method is the deployment of ongoing surveys to better understand how your clients feel about you. Only they can tell you if you are improving those relationships which drive ongoing business.

At Blytheco we know this is important and we have initiated a series of surveys delivered via email, which you may have already received, or will receive in the next few months. We are using Swiftpage along with SalesLogix to send our survey, capture results and analyze where we are doing well and where we need to improve. So far we have heard that our clients would like better ongoing communication with us, and we are working on plans now that will help us deliver that to you. We have already added more depth to our Account Executive team so that we can continue to communicate one-on-one with you more frequently, checking in periodically to make sure your needs are being met.
