Working With Limited Resources: Ideas From Users, Part Two

During the 2008 Sage Summit, the Fundraising 50 team led in several roundtable participant discussion forums whose central topic was “Working with Limited Resources: Saving Time and Money.”

During these panels, the team explored a wide array of ideas through which development offices can save energy and resources on their never-ending quest for excellence in accountability. From the large number of ideas generated, at least 5 primary categories of topics arose: Professional Training, Automation Tools, Checklists, Fundraising Calendars, and Multi-Tasking.

Fundraising Calendars

Save time and money and boost efficiency by:

• Organizing an annual fundraising calendar to see at a glance where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going in terms of your annual fundraising objectives.
• Considering calendar items for solicitation mailings, news and info mailings, eblasts, board member/trustee fundraising initiatives, and other community events that may impact your constituency’s attention.

Multi-Tasking

Save time and money and boost efficiency by:

• Considering cost effective remote access alternatives such as LogMeIn Free from www.logmein.com.
• Eliminating the need for duplicate entry of web donations with the usage of Sage Payment Solutions and Donate Now.
• Ensuring that you maintain an adequate allotment of FR50 user-licenses to empower your staff with the ability to immediately access the database; don’t force one user to exit so that another may enter when in fact both need access virtually all of the time.
