Version 8.1 of Sage Fundraising 50 is scheduled to be released in November of 2008. This

release will include a significant database change, moving from Sysbase Sql Anywhere to Microsoft Sql Express.

Installations prior to version 8.02 will first need to upgrade to 8.02 before they can upgrade to version 8.1. By upgrading to version 8.02 at this time, you can avoid the need for a multi-tiered upgrade upon the release of version 8.1. Version 8.02 was released in October of 2007. If you are unable to locate your installation CD please contact Blytheco for a replacement. Taking the time to upgrade to 8.02 now will ensure a smoother upgrade process to Version 8.1.

With the release of version 8.1, the system recommendations have been upgraded. Contact Blytheco by phone at 800.455.1368, extension 2500 or e-mail for the new system recommendations, or for additional information about Sage Fundraising 50.

Tips and Tricks on 1099s

Starting with Version MIP Fund Accounting Version 10.0, all 1099 processing, printing and e-Filing will be handled through Aatrix. This integration allows for expanded options in 1099 processing as well as support for new 1099 types. The 1099 types supported in Sage MIP Fund Accounting are 1099 MISC, 1099 DIV, 1099 INT and 1099R. In addition, the summary Form 1096 and state copies of all 1099s (where required) are available.

To process 1099s go to Activities > Produce Vendor 1099s. Upon viewing for the first time, a message will come up to inform you that the process has changed. There is a link to click in the screen that will take you to a free webcast that gives you an overview of the changes and the 1099 process. You will need to register to view the webcast.

NOTE: This is a one-time message per user. After you click OK, it will not come up again. It is strongly recommended that you view the web cast before continuing with your 1099s. If you elect to skip the webcast, you can view it through "Help" under "What's New" at any time.

After clicking OK, it will take you to the Main 1099 page. This page is where you choose what type of 1099 you wish to print, the time period, and any filters you wish to apply to the list of vendors for which you wish to print 1099s.
