Tips and Tricks: How to set up bins in Sage MAS 500

Use the Set Up Warehouses task to set up bins:

1. Expand Inventory Management, Maintenance, IM Setup.

2. Double-click Set Up Warehouses.

3. Select the applicable warehouse.

4. Select the Use Bins check box.

  • To track quantities in each bin, select the Track Qty At Bin check box.
  • To create bins records, use the Set Up Bins task.

Notes: When using bins without tracking quantity at bins, preferred bins can be set, but the bin number cannot be specified in transactions. In Sage MAS 500 version 7.0 and later, the Track Qty At Bin check box is available only when the Warehouse Management module is activated.
