Support for MAS 500 Versions 6.3 and 7.0 will end on September 30, 2010. At this retirement date, tax updates, fixes, and Sage technical support will end. In an effort to focus development and support resources on helping a majority of users, Sage will scale back the number of versions it supports through 2012. By the end of 2011, Sage will move to a two-version support policy for MAS 500.
Sage will also move to provide product updates every four to six months (instead of monthly updates) for MAS 500.
Product updates will include product enhancements, new features, usability improvements, and bug fixes to provide more value for customers on Maintenance Plans.
FRX and Financial Reporting Replacement
Microsoft has announced an end of support date of December 31, 2012 for FRx
Desktop. Sage is creating an Excel-based alternate financial reporting solution (based on the existing Financial Reporter solution for Sage Accpac), to be provided free of charge to MAS customers. Sage will also establish a partnership with a business intelligence vendor to offer advanced financial reporting. MAS customers will be provided with one free license for this solution, wtih the option to purchase additional users.

A vendor return may be processed only for items previously received in the Receipt of Goods option. The steps below assume the item has a prior receipt:
- Expand Purchase Order, Activities, and Vendor Returns. Double-click Process Return of
Goods
- Create a new batch, and leave the Warehouse field empty
- Click the Enter Return of Goods button, and then click the Next Number button
- In the Return Date field, enter the transaction date
- Click the Lines tab, and select the return lines from the original purchase order receipt
- Adjust the quantity to be returned, and then click Save
- Click the Register/Post button, and review the posting registers
- Expand Purchase Order and Activities. Double-click Process Receipt of Invoice
- Create a batch, and click the Enter the Receipt of Invoices button
- From the Type list, select Debit Memo
- In the Voucher field, enter a voucher number
- Click the Rtrn field lookup button, select the vendor return, and then click Save
- Click Register/Post, and post the batch.
