New Department of Commerce regulation requires exporters to amend their Shipper's Export Declaration form -- Are you in compliance?

StarShip customers running versions 9.9 to 9.9.3 and who are shipping international must upgrade to version 9.9.4 to remain in compliance. You will need to download the most recent version 9.9.4. Customers already running StarShip 9.9.4 will simply run a Web update to receive the enhancements for the International SED changes.

International Shipping

You may already be aware of the changes to Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR) which became effective on July 2, 2008. Specifically, the Census Bureau is requiring mandatory filing of export information through the Automated Export System (AES) for all shipments where a Shipper's Export Declaration (SED) is required. Tips and Tricks: Processing AP – AR invoice settlements in Sage MAS 500

Use the AP-AR Invoice Settlement task to settle accounts of customers who are also vendors by automatically generating credit and debit memos for vendors and the customers linked to those vendors. Vendors and customers are linked by entering a vendor ID in the Vendor field in Maintain Customers. To process settlements:

Expand Accounts Payable and Activities. Double-click Process AP-AR Invoice Settlement.
Create a batch, and click either Generate Settlements or Enter Settlements.
- Click Generate Settlements to select a range of vendors and automatically generate the appropriate memos for all vendors and related customers.
- Click Enter Settlements to select vendors and customers one-at-a-time. You can select which invoices and credit memos to include in the settlement and enter discount and settlement amounts for each invoice and credit memo.
Click the Finish button after making selections.
At the Process Settlements window, click Register/Post.
At the Register/Post window, select desired printing options, and then click the Proceed button.
